Where does Horcrux store my email?
Your local backup lives on your Mac, external drive, or NAS. You choose the folder. Horcrux 5 can also maintain additional copies on SFTP and Amazon S3.

Does my email pass through Horcrux servers?
No. The Mac app connects directly to your mail provider and the storage destinations you configure. Account credentials stay in Apple Keychain.
Which email providers work?
Horcrux supports Gmail, iCloud, Microsoft 365, Outlook.com, Fastmail, and standard IMAP accounts.
What is included in Horcrux 5?
The permanent purchase includes automatic backups, browse, search, restore, migration, export, and local, SFTP, and Amazon S3 backup locations.
Who receives the upgrade price?
Customers who paid for Horcrux 1 through 4 can choose a $29.99 one-time upgrade or a $29.99 first annual-supporter year that renews at $49.99. New customers choose $49.99 once or $49.99 per year.
Can I use the backup without Horcrux?
Yes. Durable messages use the standard .eml format with readable backup history. Horcrux also maintains a fallback restore path.
Can Horcrux restore or move email?
Yes. Migration can copy mail from saved backups, MBOX archives, and email accounts into another email account or archival format.
Is Horcrux permanent?
Yes. Choose a one-time purchase or an annual-supporter plan. The first successful payment through either option permanently unlocks Horcrux 5. Annual renewal controls Priority Support only.
What happens when Priority Support ends?
Horcrux keeps working permanently. You can continue using the help guide and community forum, or renew private Priority Support from the app.
